Death by Death Knight

As you may be able to tell by the title, this is gonna be another one in a string of class columns. I know I said that I would do leveling columns and Cata class changes, by those are boring. In this series, we will look at the various ways each class kills you- generally by each tree, one at a time.

So Death Knights- Blood, Frost and Unholy.

Blood: This spec isn't anything too extreme. It focuses on a lot on draining your life away from you. The way I see it happening is that the DK jumps from his flying mount and begins his assault. He drains your life away, the blood rushing up his blade and soaking into his skin. Eventually, though you do your best to burn him, he heals too quickly and you lose to much health to carry on.

Frost: When facing a frsot DK, you die quickly and relatively painlessly. He charges at you, freezing you in place. He continues to blast you with ice, frost and rime. All the while he is cutting at your limbs with his two weapons. While normally it would be very painful, the cold has numbed you and your responses are sluggish.

Unholy: By far the worst death by a DK. This monster waits behind a rock, or in a bush for you to ride by. When you do, he rips you from your mount to face him. An army of ghouls surround him, but they quickly move to position themselves around you. The bite and gnaw on your limbs while your foe fills your essence with diseases. Finally, you succumb to the rot and decay. (While all specs have access to diseases, Unholy focuses on them).

Time to get my PvP on!

Yeah, thats the complete lv 60 Paladin PvP set you see right there. A few days ago I saw another paladin running around Burning Steppes (I was screenshotting). He didn't have TBC and was actually killing mobs there- it was weird.

Vanity Weapons

First off, I just want to say that I know the biggest mistake Blizzard has even made. The didn't make a counterpart to Fist of the Deity. It is one of the prettiest weapons in the game and I want it.

However, I play a paladin so I can never equip it- much less its potential counterpart.

What I want to see is vanity weapons (the following could apply to gear as well). Anyone and everyone would be able to wield every single weapon as a vanity weapon. It would be a weapon kinda like The Fire Extinguisher. See- that is a two-hand. Not a mace, sword or axe. Just a two-hand. If you clicked to equip an item you couldn't use, it would pop up a little prompt:

"Equipping this weapon will make it a vanity weapon. It will remove all stats from it and it will be bound to you."

That way, when I (on my pally) see a really cool looking: staff, dagger, fist, or off-hand weapon, I could just equip it so I could look cool- but it wouldn't do anything. The important thing to stress is that all vanity weapons would do 1 dps.

However, what this would mean (especially if it affected (visible) gear) is that people could stop rolling Warriors to RP. At the moment all weapon types (except wands) and all armor (except class armor) can be worn by Warriors. Also all races (except Blood Elves (until Cataclysm)) can be warriors. This gives them the greatest versatility it customizing their appearance- but if you can put on whatever you want, no matter your class- it would look a lot cooler.

Again, this could be a very stupid idea that breaks Arena's beyond belief- but I don't care. I don't PvP. I wanna look purty!

We lost. Again.

We both lost the size of the previous image (X-Large is too large). And we lost WG. On my server, the Alliance has managed to defend the keep only 18 times. Since Wrath came out. Pathetic.

Stamina

Does stamina really have a place in the game?

I mean, I know that we need stamina (and ever increasing amounts of it) to survive- especially as a tank.

However, at higher levels (meaning TBC and WotLK) probably about 90% of quest gear has stamina on it. I'm not including trinkets in this estimate. However, it seems that everything has stamina on it. Why put stamina on gear when you can just stick it on players?

I think that everyone should just have their stamina and gear that increases stamina be kept to talents and to tanking or PvP pieces.

I could see it being a problem if all priests at lv 80 had the same amount of health, but it could be easily tied to something else by way of talents. Every class needs stamina- it could just be part of the player, not the gear.

Just a thought I had- not sure if it worth anything.

Grand Marshal

When 3.3.3 came out, I had the Honor to finish up the missing pieces from my Lv 60 PvP set.

The Patch is Upon Us!

Patch 3.3.3 is finally here! Woohoo for BGs!

The patch doesn't contain too much that excites me a whole lot, but I do enjoy the BG changes.

As soon as I got on, I queued for a random BG and got Strand of the Ancients.

I got 100 HKs, we won, and I got a resulting 7k Honor.

I followed that up with two Arathi Basin Losses, which each netted me about 5 HKs and a net of 800 Honor.

I turned in my old Marks of Honor and finished up my Lv 60 PvP set, now all I need is another 15k Honor for my Lv-60 2H sword, and then 250k Honor for all five honor mounts. Then I'll try and get the Alterac Valley mount, which will require more honor.

With my little experience, I plan on doing my daily BG and then farming WSG, AV or Isle of Conquest, depending where I get the most kills.

Thirdly I'll begin to spend Triumph Emblems on PvP gear so I can kill stuff betterer.

Yeah, I'll be so much betterer you will all die! DIE!

To Do List

I have some things I need to get done. These are important things and this is part of today's post. This is just to let you know that I didn't forget all y'all and all my projects that you were interested in. If there is something that I forget or something that I haven't started but you would like to see, comment below using the handy dandy comment system.
  1. Get a Title page/ table of contents, so people can get themselves oriented upon arrival.
  2. Finish the Greedy Gronko series- I know its been a while, but Blacksmithing is coming up sometime in the future when I don't know what to write.
  3. Heroics Guide- I still need to cover the four Icecrown Instances
  4. Raid Guides? Perhaps start by covering the classic and TBC raids and then move onto Wrath Guides
  5. Leveling Guides- I should be able to do a general 1-10 guide for everything, a general intro guide and then more detailed guides for Druids, DKs, Locks and Paladins.
  6. Level my other toons- so I can create guides for Shamans, Warriors, Mages, Rogues, Priests and Hunters.
With that out of the way, you know what to expect from me in the coming time period of longness.

But I would like to get my voice heard on what I believe should be integrated into the game by Blizzard.
  1. Casino's: Everyone loves gamblin and some players have set up simple systems in game (which are against the game rules). I would definitely go gamble, even though it should be designed as a gold sink. It could also be designed such that players could gamble on in game events: next seasons #1 gladiator, realm firsts etc...
  2. Arena watching: You should be able to spectate on current arena matches. You would be an invisible avatar, or you would be given the perspective of a live character of your choice (hotkeyed to numbers 1-4 for 2v2, 1-6 for 3v3, 1-0 for 5v5).
  3. Bounties: If you want a certain player killed you can place a bounty and an amount of gold to be awarded for whoever manages the first kill. You would be able to go to a bounty board- available in any major city, pick a bounty you want and carry it out. When you pick up a bounty you will receive a scroll with the targets name and it being unique. This way, multiple people can pick up the same bounty, but not the same person more than once. The first person to kill said target outside of a Arena match or BG will be sent the award. This could be used to grief, so their would be a cost put on placing a bounty and you will not receive the bounty if you did not receive honor from the kill.
These ideas still have to be worked on, but I think I might hammer them out and repost the ideas more coherently.

Strand of the Ancients

Here there be boats. Lots of boats. And a broken road. I don't get why it hasn't completely collapsed yet.

PvP!

PvP is fun!

I've discovered that winning in WSG is actually loads of fun.

I've been leveling a hunter with a shammy friend and we're both lv 13 right now. We have been entering WSG as often as we can and today we each got 250+ HKs, with about 20-30 KBs on my part.

It was really fun caping the flag at level 11 and it was just hilarious when I was in a posse of four hunters, we shot down anything before it got close to us.

A while back, with one of my DKs I capped 5 times in 2 games.

In another game, in the 50-59 bracket (notoriously heavy with DKs) we had a 70% DK group. So, when our flag was snagged by the other team, by preorganization we chain Death Gripped the poor sod back to our tunnel, all the way from his tunnel, killed him and returned the flag.

On my 80s I don't appreciate PvP as much because many players have significantly better gear than I do. However, with the new PvP changes coming up I may be able to finally finish my lv 60 PvP plate set of awesome, and then start working on getting a couple decent lv 80 PvP sets.

RPing for the first time

Yesterday I logged onto my DK on Silver Hand. She is a 59 Unholy Forsaken. Silver Hand is a RP server, and I have never really interacted strongly on the few that I have tried out. Anyways, I definitely had some fun playing 'in character' however, any character concept and history has yet to really happen. I had some very amusing discussions which you can see below. So:

[Trade] Dukazh: wts Crusader Orb for 350. pst me
[Trade] Dukazh: 2 of them!
W to Dukazh: I could sell your children for that much... shall I?
D: ok? I have children at the age of 17?
L: Or would you rather give me an orb and have your children returned- alive and whole.
D: <---- 17. Not worried about children yet
L: Well... Your future childrens' safety is at stake.
D: Thank you doc.
D: from back to the future if you didnt catch that :P
L: Do you really value 350 gold over their potential well being?
D: sure
L: Well, there goes my business plan. When you have children and they go missing, forward a Crusader Orb to me and you'll get them back.
D: hahaha......iiii dont knooooow.
To: Nindera

I would like to purchase both of the Assassination Blades you have on the auction house. However, having just freed myself from The Lich King's thrall for a second time, I am desperately lacking funds. If you could hold onto the weapons until I manage to gather 200g, I would be greatly pleased.

Your Undying (and consequently eternal) customer,
~Lashinara
This last image doesn't need a transcript, it just shows that people on RP realms are (imho) generally more mature, use proper spelling and can take a joke.

Anyways, I had a glorious time and later in the evening got five WSG caps in two consecutive flawless victories.
