So, apparently I'm an Officer in my guild now.
My guild leader whispered me, asking if I had a moment to talk- not having anything better to do (other than wait for people in front of Rotface) I said sure.
And then he asked if I would be ok with being an officer.
I was kinda flabergasted. Of course, I love my guild, and it wouldn't be much more responsibility than I've had before, but it seems like a huge step.
So anyways...

How far can you go?
This is to ask the question about how far you feel comfortable insulting/bashing/complaining/arguing with (either directly or indirectly) some you are playing WoW with.
The other day, I was DPSing H-CoS on my new to 80 DK, with me were a healer friend and a tanking friend, the healer well geared and the tank with even less gear than myself.
So this hunter joined our group, and about a pull or two in, he said that he need to go afk. CoS is on a timer, so the waves spawn automatically. He missed six or seven pulls coming back when we had a boss to down. Then, in the Inn, he also left, although the waves there also automatically spawn and you have to keep up with Arthas.
Then, during the gauntlet run, he asked if any of us would like to run any of the Icecrown five mans to help him gear up. At this point I said something along the lines of "I'm not going to work to get you gear while you afk."
He responded with a remark about how comparatively poor my gear was. I made a remark about how my DPS was twice his and my damage done several times higher. He responded with "I'm not trying."
It ended with a boot to the hunter after pulling the last boss.
In other scenarios, when there is someone who plays a more regular role in my playing I try much harder to be polite- mostly when there are people in my random from Ursin.
In those cases I am extra cautious so that I don't get a bad rep. I do my best to be polite, humorous and helpful.
However, sometimes I snap. Sometimes a DPS is really annoying me, and since we're early in, I can't kick him, so I ask him to step it up. I always look at their gear and talents before doing this just to make sure that my complaints are reasonable. However, because of my high level of gear, if they start yammering on about how well the dps/their important role and they link meters, I can counter link meters showing me (or someone else) at the top, or focusing on the correct target.
But the one group of people who I work to keep happy and never insulted are my guildies. My guild is a primarily social guild and the point of being in a group together is because it is fun. If I risk insulting another Ursinite, but to protect one of my guildies, I'll do it. Even if the other people have strong ties to TOC, I still feel that guildies are due utmost respect.

The Future of Guilds
So, I have a surprise for all y'all. Today's title actually works for today's piece.
Beyond that, I have my ideas, and what has been 'confirmed'.
At BlizzCon 2009, Blizzard announced that in Cataclysm there would be a guild leveling system.
Guilds would be able to gain talent points from their levels and use those talents to improve their raiding and PvP. Things mentioned included raid-wide rezs, damage buffs and others.
Guilds were also told that they would likely get guild items- so that they couldn't be ninja'd. They would be heirlooms that would stay with the guild.
That is what Blizzard has said is likely to be in Cata. But there is more that could be done- and more that I want.
- Official Guild Alliances: This would allow several smaller guilds to Ally themselves and get guild levels. There would be restrictions, so that five guilds that each can run two simultaneous 25-mans cannot join into one huge group that runs 250 people through say ToC in one night and gets the ridiculous amount of guild-exp that killing five bosses 250 times entails.
- Guild-First Achievements: These would be achievements for the first people in a guild to complete certain objectives. They would be similar to the World-First achievements, but if you switched out of the guild you earned it in, you would have to have gotten that achievement before the people in your new guild to keep the achievement.
- Guild AHs: I know in my guild, we do work for free for guildies, and often supply the mats if we have them on hand. I know that in many progressive raiding guilds, that is in short supply. However, if there was a guild AH, you could post your spare enchants, or enchanting mats, at a 'guild price' so guildies could get what they needed, at a lower price, and you would still make gold.
- Guild Halls: This would be similar to the concept of player housing, but the guild halls available would only be the rooms of Raid Bosses they have defeated at least 10 times. There would be some customization possible, mostly guild achievement related however. You would be able to show off your kills and any legendaries the guild might have gotten. Guilds would also be able to purchase a mailbox, a guild bank vault and a guild AH to place in their Guild Hall, similar to the way that they purchase bank tabs.

Patch 3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3.3...
Or so I've been told...
Anyways, since this is the big news in WoW, I've decided to write my take on it.
I am not going to bother posting everything about patch 3.3.3 because this is not a new blog. This is a personal opinion, experiences etc... blog. It simply doesn't make sense for me to post what other people have posted hours or days ago, in less detail. If you want news, check mmochampion or wowinsider.
Anyways, 3.3.3 is going to be a minor update patch. They are going to fix a few things in games, mostly balance issues and they will also be touching up the BG system.
For the BG system they are removing Marks of Honor as well as buffing the HK honor gain. This is wonderful for me because it will allow me to not only get the PvP mounts, but I will also be able to finish off my Lv 60 PvP set.
Additionally, news has been leaked of the upcoming patch 3.3.5 which doesn't make sense to me because 3.3.3 has just been released on the ptr and there has been no mention of 3.3.4.
With respect to 3.3.5, they have announced more bosses for the place below Wyrmrest Temple. This is supposed to be the forerunner to the Cata world event but the bosses will have Lich King level loot tables.
The above fact makes me very sad. Because of the loot levels there will be a corresponding difficulty and I feel that it is very unlikely that TOC will be able to get through the place. I would find it much more agreeable if it were on the same level as regular ICC or perhaps even ToC.
Anyways, I also disagree that if these new dragons are implemented that Arthas is the last boss of the expansion, because there were bosses that came after him.

More Like A-NOOB Twins!

As I've mentioned before ToC is NOT a progression raiding guild. Yesterday night they downed Northern Beasts and Jarraxus for the second or third time. Tonight, I was actually present for the Guild First killing of both the (One-Shotted) Faction Champions (which they've wiped on before) and the (Two-Shotted) Valkyr Twins.
I was going to use the A-Noob'arak instead of Anub'arak joke, but we wiped on him twice. However, we may get him down sometime this week.
In further news, I got two pieces of loot- one a drop off Flame Leviathan and another from emblems.
